THE PITCHERS

Bryan Rekar

Rekar's lone win came June 13, and it hasn't been pretty since. He spent more than a month on the disabled list with a sore shoulder and was 0-5 with a 7.88 ERA in eight starts. He struggled through six innings against the A's Friday.

Erik Hiljus

The 30-year-old right-hander has been a decent fifth starter, going 2-0 with a 4.38 ERA in seven starts. He was somewhat effective against the Rays on Saturday, allowing five hits and three runs over five innings in his only outing vs. the Rays.
