LARGO -- CCC's Kevin Lyons and SPC's Mike Craig ran stride-for-stride for the first 2.6 miles before Craig surged in front with an extended kick to win in 16:17, about 10 meters ahead of Lyons at the Indian Rocks Christian Invitational at Taylor Park on Thursday.

Craig's win led SPC to an easy win over Shorecrest, 34-75. "I let (Lyons) lead pretty much the whole way. Then I made my move with probably about 700 meters left," he said. Keswick senior Christa Benton cruised to victory in the girls race in 17:58, and Keswick edged Shorecrest 52-53.

Shorecrest was without No. 1 runner Stephanie Kyriakides, who will be out another 2-3 weeks following heel surgery.

HURRICANE INVITATIONAL: Both Seminole teams won easily.

Seminole's Gordon Redshaw won the boys race in 16:10. Largo's Dan Bauer didn't race due to a sore knee. Largo freshman Deanna Drugash took the girls race in 20:28.
