TAMPA -- Robinson's Kwane Doster is the man.
He was the only one to get the ball in the end zone against Hillsborough on Friday night. Shoot, he was about the only one who gained any yards against Hillsborough: 134 yards on 31 carries.
As a team, Robinson gained only 151 yards, proving once again that one man is not enough to beat the Terriers.
Final score: Hillsborough 39, Robinson 7.
"I did everything I could possibly do," said Doster, who suffered only a bruised finger despite taking many hard shots. "Our offensive line did a good job against them, and that is a very good team.
"Hillsborough is just strong and quick, and they swarm to the ball really fast."
Doster's touchdown -- following a 13-play, 65-yard drive (10 carries by Doster) -- cut it to 12-7 in the second quarter.
But on the ensuing kickoff, Marques Trigg ran 95 yards for a touchdown.
On its next possession, Robinson fumbled on its own 7-yard line. Elijah Dukes scored on the next play.
"Just like that, we go from being in a close one to leading 26-7," Hillsborough coach Earl Garcia said. "Those series of plays were definitely key."
Hillsborough stretched the lead to 33-7 in the third quarter when Vernon Daniels returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown.
The victory stretches Hillsborough's regular-season winning streak to 23 games, the county's longest.
Garcia, however, said there's plenty of room for improvement.
"I thought we were better offensively this week than last, " he said. "Hopefully, we can go to the beach next week (Hillsborough is at Clearwater) and get a little better."
For the second consecutive week, Ronnie McCullough led the Terriers in rushing with five carries for 67 yards and a touchdown, a 41-yarder in the first quarter.
Dukes, whose suspension for disciplinary reasons was reduced from three games to one, finished with 42 yards on five carries.
"(Dukes) was a little rusty," Garcia said. "But I'm sure he's going to be just fine."
