TAMPA -- Plant Head Coach Darlee Nelson reached his 100th career win in his team's Class 4A, District 8 victory over a gritty Leto team. Plant was spurred on by a monster rushing performance from Devin Kennedy, who scored on touchdown runs of 17, 66 and 55 yards.

Leto fought the Panthers tough, and trailed only 20-15 until late in the third quarter.

PLAY OF THE GAME: With 8:25 remaining in the game and Plant up 28-15, Leto started a new possession at the Plant 40-yard line. However, Keron Gordon picked off a long Terrance McKennon pass on the first play to end any Falcon comeback hopes.

PLAYERS OF THE GAME: Kennedy, who rushed for 268 yards on 23 carries. Leto fullback Greg Robinson carried 14 times for 92 yards.

KEY STATISTIC: Plant scored 14 key points off two Leto turnovers. In all, Leto turned over the ball over four times, while Plant didn't lose the ball once all night.

THEY SAID IT: "This is the finest moment in my coaching career." -- Nelson.
