SPRING HILL -- About 6,000 customers of Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative were without power Sunday afternoon after lightning struck a substation on Spring Hill Drive near Waterfall Avenue, said Withlacoochee spokesman Ernie Holzhauer.
The strike came at 3:30 p.m. and within two hours, crews rerouted power from another substation. Repairs to the damaged utility equipment will be typical, Holzhauer said.
"This is what we usually see during lightning season," he said.
