CENTENNIAL ELEMENTARY: "Take You Parents to School Day" will be held Monday through Sept. 21 for New Frontier and Primary Pioneers students and Sept. 20 for Explorers students. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of this event to see what happens during a normal school day.

COX ELEMENTARY: Kindergarten workshop, 11:30 a.m. today. Parents of kindergarten students are encouraged to attend this workshop to learn how to help their children with reading and math lessons at home.

LACOOCHEE ELEMENTARY: Open House will be held Sept. 20. School pictures Sept. 21.

Volunteers are needed for tutoring and assisting emerging readers in the America Reads program. For information call Bonnie Bick or Wayne Miles at (352) 524-5600.

LAND O'LAKES HIGH: Senior photo retakes Thursday and Friday. See. Ms. Kerwin for an appointment. Underclass photos Sept. 19.

MOORE MICKENS EDUCATION CENTER: Open House 6 p.m. Monday. The evening will start with a potluck supper, followed by election of School Advisory Council officers. Visitations in classrooms will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Those who attend the potluck are asked to bring a salad, vegetable or dessert. A main dish will be provided.

PASCO ELEMENTARY: Fall pictures Monday. Academy of Continuous Excellence after school program 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. each Tuesday. This enrichment program runs Sept. 18 through Feb. 14, 2002, and is geared to helping students prepare for FCAT assessments. Volunteers are needed to help with student health screenings on Sept. 19. Volunteers must have a volunteer application submitted and approved by this date in order to participate. For information or to volunteer, call clinic assistant Carmen Juarez at (352) 524-5200.

PASCO HIGH: Senior pictures Monday in the gymnasium. Homecoming is Sept. 28.

SAN ANTONIO ELEMENTARY: Scholastic Book Fair runs through Friday.

SAND PINE ELEMENTARY: Book Fair runs Monday through Friday in the media center. Open House 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday for Coral Reefs and Mangroves teams. Market Day orders are due Tuesday. School pictures will be taken Sept. 19 and 20. PTA general assembly meeting Sept. 25.

R.B. STEWART MIDDLE: School Advisory Council meets at 3:30 p.m. today.

CHESTER TAYLOR ELEMENTARY: PTA and Open House 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 25. Parents to Kids meeting 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

WESLEY CHAPEL HIGH: Yearbook pictures will be taken Tuesday.

WEST ZEPHYRHILLS ELEMENTARY: School-wide Open House and Spaghetti Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday with a PTA meeting. Cost for dinner is $3 and free for adults who join PTA. Children $1. Book Fair runs through Friday in the media center. Fall Fundraiser kicks off Monday.

WOODLAND ELEMENTARY: Volunteers are needed to give students a little extra help with their studies. No special skills are needed, just people willing to donate an hour or so a week. ANCLOTE ELEMENTARY: School Advisory Council meeting, 5 p.m. Monday. Sertoma hearing screening for kindergarten and first grade students, 10 a.m. Sept. 20.

BAYONET POINT MIDDLE: Patriot Parent Involvement Day, 8:30 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. Oct. 1. Parents are encouraged to register by Sept. 24 for this event that will allow parents and guardians the opportunity to attend their child's morning classes, tour the campus and have lunch with their child.

BISHOP LARKIN INTERPAROCHIAL CATHOLIC: Passport to Fun International Fundraising Festival, 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Father Felix Knights of Columbus Hall in Port Richey. Crafts, games, live entertainment and ethnic food will be featured. Tickets to the Passport to Fun and Dinner are $5 each. Discounts are available for those who purchase Passport tickets in advance. The faculty at Quail Hollow Elementary School is hosting aCar Wash Fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sept 22. at the 7-11 on the corner of Old Pasco Road and State Road 54 in Wesley Chapel. Proceeds will help defray medical expenses for Lynzie Spence, a 2001 Quail Hollow Elementary graduate who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. The Second Annual Pasco Education Foundation Golf Classic will be held at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 22 at Plantation Palms Golf Club in Land O'Lakes. Proceeds benefit programs of the foundation, including classroom grants, scholarships and student academic contests. Cost to play is $100 per person and includes golf cart, range balls and various contests. Corporate sponsorships ($400) and Hole Sponsorships ($100) still are available. A silent auction will also be held. Taped auditions are being accepted through Sept. 29 for the Tampa Bay Symphony 15th Annual Young Artist Competition. Instrumentalists, ages middle school through age 21, including pianists, are eligible. The winner will receive a cash award and perform with the Tampa Bay Symphony at three concerts in April 2002. Applications may be obtained at Pasco County music departments. The Gulf Middle School Chapter of the FFA is offering a 4H Chapter to students throughout the community, ages 5 to 18 years. Members will raise plants and animals and compete in the county and state fairs. The community is invited to Centennial Park Library's 14th Birthday Bash and the Pasco Arts Council's Demo Day 2001 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 22, at Centennial Park Library and Pasco Arts Center, 5744 Moog Rd., Holiday. Library activities will include clowns, kid crafts and a flower and book sale. At the art center, this event will serve as an introduction to the various classes offered -- oil, watercolor and acrylic painting, pottery, drawing, photography, mosaic works, caricatures and music. The Pasco Education Foundation has received a $12,000 grand from Verizon to develop and implement a new program called "The Three R's: Read, Read, Read." This program is designed to put age and reading level appropriate books into the hands of low performing students in Pasco County.
