Pasco residents waited in long lines to donate blood Tuesday afternoon in an attempt to help the victims of the terrorist attack.

In response, the Florida Blood Center announced it would extend its hours today. At the blood donation center on 7214 State Road 52, Pasco sheriff's deputies and Pasco Fire Rescue employees will sponsor a blood drive, and personnel from both agencies will donate alongside the public.

Here's where you can donate blood in Pasco County:

Florida Blood Services, 7214 State Road 52, Hudson.

Colonial Medical Center, 5622 Marine Parkway No. 25, New Port Richey (a half-mile east of U.S. 19).

In addition, the blood center will send the Bloodmobile to two Pasco locations:

Cotee River Elementary School, 7515 Plathe Road, New Port Richey, from 8 to 10 a.m.

Gills Family YMCA, 2228 Trinity Oaks Blvd., New Port Richey, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to the blood center, there also will be two large blood drives at Legends Field in Tampa and Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. All of the blood centers will be open extended hours, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. For information, go to blood center's Web site at www.fbsblood.org, or call: (727) 819-5433 in Pasco County, or toll free 1-800-68-BLOOD (1-800-682-5663).

In addition, one drive already set up for today will go on as planned from 4 to 9 p.m. at Saint Leo University.

Officials say people should expect long delays at donation sites.
