Marine Corps Sgt. Mikel J. Branch, son of Myris Branch of St. Pete Beach, returned from a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf while assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Branch, a 1994 graduate of South Doyle High School, Knoxville, Tenn., joined the Marine Corps in November 1994. His unit is based at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Navy Lt. J.G. John Wolstenholme III, son of Kathleen Wolstenholme of St. Petersburg and John Wolstenholme Jr. of Pinellas Park, was nominated for the 13th annual Cmdr. Robert Rothschild Maintenance Logistics Manager Award by the commanding officer of strike fighter 113, Lemoore Naval Air Station, Lemoore, Calif. He is on a six-month deployment in the Indian Ocean on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.

Wolstenholme, a 1982 graduate of Lakewood High School, was promoted to his present rank in February.
