NEW PORT RICHEY -- The city's Community Redevelopment Agency will give the Greater New Port Richey Main Street Group Inc. $30,000 to cover operating expenses in the 2001-2002 fiscal year, double the amount that the city gave the group the previous year.
But the CRA, which is made up of City Council members, also voted unanimously Tuesday night to audit the non-profit group's finances. This is the first time the council has audited the group, which it also gave $24,500 in reimbursements for special events last year.
The Main Street group has submitted financial statements in response to requests from the City Council.
