MOHAMED ATTA

AGE: 33

ROLE IN ATTACK: On board American Airlines Flight 11 that crashed into first of two World Trade Center towers.

PILOT LICENSE: unknown

FLORIDA CONNECTION: Took flight training in Venice in summer of 2000. Moved to Coral Springs in Broward County late last year or early this year. Obtained Florida driver's license in May 2001.

INTERNATIONAL BACKGROUND: Atta told acquaintance in Venice that he was from Egypt. Reports out of Germany say he studied at the Technical University in Hamburg and was from the United Arab Emirates.

MARWAN AL-SHEHHI

AGE: 23

ROLE: Died aboard United Airlines Flight 175, the second plane to crash into the Trade Center. Car linked to Atta and Alshehhi found at Boston's Logan Airport.

PILOT LICENSE: yes.

FLORIDA CONNECTION: Obtained a Florida driver's license in February 1997. Took flight training with Atta and lived with Atta in Venice last year. Moved to Coral Springs this year.

INTERNATIONAL BACKGROUND: Reports out of Germany said Al-shehhi also had studied at the Technical University in Hamburg and was from the United Arab Emirates. Alshehhi told an acquaintance in Venice that he was from the UAE.

WALEED AL SHEHRI

AGE: 25

ROLE: On American Airlines Flight 11 that left Boston and crashed into World Trade Center.

PILOT LICENSE: Yes.

FLORIDA CONNECTION: Obtained Florida driver's license in October 1994. Lived in Daytona Beach through 1998 and later moved to Vienna, Va. Graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in aeronautical science, the university's commercial pilot training degree, and is listed as having a commercial pilot's license.

PLACE OF BIRTH: Pilot license lists home as Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

ABDULATIF A AL-OMARI

AGE: 31

ROLE: His Miami apartment was raided late Tuesday, the Miami Herald reported. Located in Portland and Boston the day of the attack, according to the Portland Press-Herald.

FLORIDA CONNECTION: Issued a Florida driver's license on May 27, 1994. Lived in Miami since 1994.

PILOT LICENSE: Unknown.
