The week in review
By Times staff writer
© St. Petersburg Times, CITRUS REACTS TO TERRORISM: Like people throughout the nation, Citrus residents mourned and fumed as they watched news of the terrorist attacks. Some people had relatives who worked in or around the attack sites. People went to worship houses Friday in observance of President Bush's call. Other ceremonies were planned for this week. MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED: Authorities arrested David Norman Duquette, 20, and accused him of killing Linda Marie Howes, 19. Duquette originally told investigators he dropped Howes behind her home the night she disappeared. Now, according to authorities, he said he strangled Howes while having consensual sex and then buried her remains no more than 150 paces from his Floral City home. SCHOOL BUDGET: The School Board learned that the district staff has miscalculated by $16-million the money available for construction, setting back plans to build a new high school in five years. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
