    Daphne M. Wood, a 1997 graduate of Clearwater High School, received her bachelor's degree in marketing from Florida State University's College of Business. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity. She plans to pursue her master's degree at the University of South Florida. She is the daughter of Jim and Betsy Wood of Clearwater.

    Jessica Mannen, a 2000 cum laude graduate of Palm Harbor University High School, and Jeffrey Auerbach, a 1999 graduate of Clearwater Central Catholic High School, were inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. The society recognizes first and second year undergraduate students who excel academically.

    Mannen attends the University of Florida, where she is majoring in food science and human nutrition. She later plans to attend dental school. She is an active member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and is a mentor to a Gainesville child. She is the daughter of Karin and Rick Mannen of Clearwater.

    Auerbach is a junior pre-med student at Florida State University, where he received an academic scholarship. He has been on the university's Dean's List each semester of his attendance. He is the son of Donald and Marcia Auerbach of Clearwater.

    Natalie Whitney, a 2001 graduate of Largo High School, was awarded a $4,000 scholarship from the Florida Transportation Builders' Association and a $1,000 scholarship from the Suncoast Utility Contractors Association. She attends the University of Florida. She is the daughter of Robert and Michaeline Whitney of Clearwater
