Attack aftermath

Britney Spears plans to give $1 from each ticket sold for her fall tour to the children of the firefighters and police officers killed in the terrorist attacks. She performs at the Ice Palace on Oct. 28. Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for Spears and her boyfriend, 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake, told the Associated Press that the pair is not involved in a planned benefit song Michael Jackson announced Monday. . . . Classical violinist Joshua Bell turned to the music of Leonard Bernstein when he was asked to play something on Conan O'Brien's NBC late-night talk show, which returned to the air Tuesday for the first time since the attacks. "I was tempted to play New York, New York as a kind of celebration of New York, but it didn't feel appropriate," said Bell, who lives at 22nd and Broadway in lower Manhattan. "(So) I played an excerpt from the West Side Story Suite, the song Somewhere, which I find the most touching of all of his songs."

Movie updates

Because of changes made after printing, movie times for Hardball, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Jurassic Park 3 at Woodlands Square 20 in Oldsmar are incorrect in today's Weekend section. Please consult Friday Floridian, Saturday Home and Garden, and Sunday Floridian for correct information or call the theater.

Also, The Deep End is playing at Channelside 9, Ocala Hollywood 16 and Burns Court Cinemas but not at the Beach Theater. An item on page 10 in Weekend is incorrect.
