Get Away: Hot Ticket

Lorikeets, leopards and gators . . . oh my!
See the red wolves, the Florida manatees, the gators, the lorikeets, the Persian leopard, above, and all the animals at Lowry Park Zoo for just a buck on Sunday, the annual Dollar Day. Each person older than 2 will be admitted for $1. Ages 2 and younger get in free. Regular admission is $8.50 for adults and $4.95 for ages 3 to 11. As part of the promotion, the zoo offers behind-the-scenes tours of the manatee and aquatics center for an additional $5 for adults and $3 per child. Discounts apply for zoo members. Wining and dining
Dunedin Wines the Blues, in its ninth year, has become one of those events people from around the area look forward to in this hoppin' downtown. The event Saturday features music by Blind Willie James, Dan Electro, the Dukes of Juke and the Mark Hodgson Band. There are wines and beers to sample, craft vendors, food and children's arts and crafts to enjoy. Many downtown restaurants and shops also will expand their hours during the festival, which runs 3-10:30 p.m. Activities take place on Main Street, between Louden Avenue and Broadway (Alt. Concert splash
The Florida Aquarium's Splash Series concludes 6-10 p.m. Friday with a family concert featuring GetBack!, members of the original Broadway and London cast of Beatlemania, above. Activities include food and drink specials, a Radio Disney coloring contest 6-7 p.m. and free beer samples. The concert is free for aquarium members and children 12 and younger. All others $5.
