Directions to the restrooms or telephone can get complicated. Servers who answer requests for directions with "Let me show you" and a short walk to the right corridor add a generous gracenote to their hospitality.
Tocque talk
Chef Tom Chin, who opened the Renaissance Vinoy kitchens in 1992, leaves St. Petersburg's grand pink hotel to head north to crisper air and his Connecticut roots this month.
His taste will linger in an October hotel menu celebrating pumpkins and squashes in soups, muffins and ravioli, and with duck, cod and pork.
