Turkey Trot training on SaturdaysTraining classes for the 23rd annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot will meet 8 a.m. every Saturday now until race day. There will be free classes for anyone wanting to race in either the Gobbler 1-mile run, the Wingding 5K (3.1 miles) or the Trot 10K (6.2 miles). Wingding classes will teach fitness and stamina through a walk-run method. Bonnie Stein, who can be reached at 394-WALK or by e-mail at AceWalkR@mindspring.com, will teach race-walking. Runners who want to prepare for the 6-mile race should train with the Trot 10K group. Guest speakers' topics will include foot care and wear, stretching, nutrition and running biomechanics. Training will take place at Shelter 1 at Taylor Park, 1100 Eighth Ave. SW, Largo, and John Chesnut Sr. Park, 2200 East Lake Road, East Lake. Walkers and runners looking for training partners can meet at 6 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday at First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks Family Life Center, 12685 Ulmerton Road, Largo.
