All games at 7:30 unless noted.

East Lake (2-1) at Seminole (3-0)

LAST MEETING: Seminole 14, East Lake 10 (1998)

THE SKINNY: The best non-district matchup of the season to date. Seminole's 19-game regular-season win streak might find its toughest test in an Eagles squad that is flying after scoring 109 points in two wins. Seminole has scored 106 during the same span, but more important, is allowing just 7 per game. Toughest defense wins here.

Countryside (2-1) at Clearwater (0-3)

LAST MEETING: Clearwater 7, Countryside 0 (1998)

THE SKINNY: Clearwater, what happened? A strong finish in 2000 has not carried over. The defense has disappointed, allowing at least 26 points in three games, and the offense is not likely to hang with the Cougars in a shootout.

Osceola (3-0) at Lakewood (1-2)

LAST MEETING: Lakewood 20, Osceola 14 (2000)

THE SKINNY: If the Spartans could punt or kick, this could have been a matchup of unbeatens. Instead, Lakewood must find a way to stop Jason Teague to avoid a second consecutive 1-3 start.

St. Petersburg (1-2) at Tarpon Springs (2-1)

LAST MEETING: Tarpon Springs 22, St. Petersburg 7 (1998)

THE SKINNY: Looking for a high-scoring game? Look elsewhere. Tarpon's offense is on the fritz with its key weapons out. Meanwhile, St. Petersburg hasn't scored since Week 1. Kicker Emmanuel Pilatos could be the x-factor for Tarpon.

Dixie Hollins (2-1) at Gibbs (0-3)

LAST MEETING: Gibbs 27, Dixie Hollins 24 (2000)

THE SKINNY: If any Rebels look down on Gibbs, they might regret it. Actually, Dixie had better be ready to look up. The Gladiators have passed an average of 33 times per game. Page: Gibbs Putnam: Dixie Hollins Schwarb: Gibbs

Palm Harbor U. (0-3) at Northeast (3-0)

LAST MEETING: None

THE SKINNY: The first game against Northeast will surely not be one to remember for PHU. What's more intriguing than this matchup is the start of 5A-7 district play next week, where PHU, Pinellas Park and Clearwater could all be a combined 0-12 and fighting for a playoff spot.

Pinellas Park (0-3) vs. Dunedin (1-2), at Countryside

LAST MEETING: Pinellas Park 50, Dunedin 0 (1998)

THE SKINNY: The Falcons play at Countryside for the second consecutive week, and get a considerably easier foe. Pinellas Park has scored three points all year and has shown no ability to stop the run. Dunedin has talent in the backfield, led by Bryant Tisdale.

Frostproof (2-1) at SP Catholic (1-1)

LAST MEETING: None

THE SKINNY: SPC isn't playing on a short week after its Week 3 game was canceled. The Barons will try to beat the perennially tough Bulldogs, then cross their fingers until Sunday, when the FHSAA will hear an appeal on its postseason ban.

Riverhills Chr. (0-2) at Shorecrest (2-1)

LAST MEETING: None

THE SKINNY: The Falcons are disintegrating. Monday, Fort Meade pummeled them 51-0 and Wednesday the FHSAA ruled 10 players ineligible for attending another school. Every Falcon might have to go both ways against the resurgent Chargers.

Winter Haven All Saints' (0-3) at Keswick Chr. (2-1)

LAST MEETING: None

THE SKINNY: No, Schooley. Brothers Chad and Cris Schooley have been the catalysts for the Crusaders, including last week with two touchdowns in a 21-20 win against rival Northside Chr. All Saints' has lost its games by a combined 114-16.

CC Catholic (3-0) at Berkeley Prep (0-2)

LAST MEETING: CCC 42, Berkeley Prep 0 (2000)

THE SKINNY: A 2A-7 game. This could be a classic look-ahead game for CCC with Jefferson up next week, but for a half the Marauders will take care of district business and squash the Buccaneers. Page: CCC Putnam: CCC Schwarb: CCC

Miami Florida Chr. (1-2) at Indian Rocks Chr. (0-3)

LAST MEETING: Florida Chr. 48, IRC 19 (1997)

THE SKINNY: The Patriots were 7-2 last year and a playoff team in Class A. This is the first of three consecutive opponents for IRC with losing records, and a win against any of them would be most welcome.

Northside Chr. (1-2) at Fort Myers Evangelical Chr. (3-0)

LAST MEETING: Northside Chr. 65, Evangelical Chr. 0 (1998)

THE SKINNY: The first of two tough road games for the Mustangs. The Sentinels have received votes for the Class A poll after three lopsided wins.
