The Pinellas Top 10
With last week's ranking in parenthesis
1. (1) Seminole (3-0) -- Still the class of the county, but no true tests since Week 1. East Lake will be a test.
2. (4) Northeast (3-0) -- Highlight Oct. 19 on the calendar now -- Vikings at Warhawks for the 5A-8 title.
3. (3) CC Catholic (3-0) -- No mas! Forces PHU into the running clock in the third quarter of a 44-0 rout.
4. (5) East Lake (2-1) -- Two consecutive wins against quality passing teams by rushing, rushing, and rushing some more.
5. (7) Largo (3-0) -- Shows it can win in a shootout, might need to do so again Sept. 28 in key district game at Countryside.
6. (2) Tarpon Springs (2-1) -- Very vulnerable with a second-string quarterback and Roshawn Marshall in street clothes.
7. (10) Dixie Hollins (2-1) -- Will not fool around again with the ball, the lead and one minute left on the clock.
8. (8) Countryside (2-1) -- Rebounds from East Lake embarrassment, gets leg up in 4A-9 with win against Dunedin.
9. (9) Osceola (3-0) -- No postseason does not equal no incentive. Might feast on teams looking ahead to district games.
10. (5) Lakewood (1-2) -- Special teams not special at all in a two-point loss to Seminole and one-point loss to Largo.
