Deputy injured in collision with U-Haul truck

NEW PORT RICHEY -- A Pasco County sheriff's deputy suffered an apparent broken arm Thursday night when his patrol car collided with a U-Haul truck, officials said. The deputy's cruiser caught fire moments after the collision. The driver of the U-Haul, a young woman whose name was not available, and the deputy were transported to local hospitals. The woman's injuries did not appear serious. The crash occurred at 8 p.m. on Congress Street just south of Ridge Road.
