BETHUNE-COOKMAN AT NORFOLK STATE

WHEN/WHERE: 7; Dick Price Stadium, Norfolk, Va.

RECORDS: B-CC 1-1, NSU 1-0.

COACHES: B-CC -- Alvin Wyatt (29-18, fifth season). NSU -- Mo Forte (33-53-1, eighth season).

NOTES: B-CC has a lot of work to do. After the 31-28 loss to first-year Florida Atlantic on Sept. 8, B-CC dropped out of the Sports Network Division I-AA Top 25 and Sheridan poll. The Wildcats must shake off the rust of a two-week layoff. The Spartans return seven starters on defense, but they'll have their hands full with the running and passing prowess of Tampa Catholic alum Allen Suber.

CENTRAL FLORIDA AT TULANE

WHEN/WHERE: 3:30; Louisiana Superdome, New Orleans.

TV: Sunshine.

RECORDS: UCF 0-2, TU 0-3.

COACHES: UCF -- Mike Kruczek (20-15, fourth season). TU -- Chris Scelfo (10-16, third season).

LINE: UCF by 51/2.

NOTES: After watching his best week of practice, Kruczek hopes it will be his team that gets its first win -- especially with a visit to No. 9 Virginia Tech next week. "I think these kids are hungry. They know there is an urgency to go there and perform the way we are expecting them to."

FLORIDA A&M VS. TENNESSEE STATE

WHEN/WHERE: 3; Georiga Dome, Atlanta.

TV: FSN.

RECORDS: FAMU 2-0, TSU 1-0.

COACHES: FAMU -- Billy Joe (65-23, eighth season). TSU -- James Reese (4-8, second season).

NOTES: Last week's game with Grambling, No. 1 in the Sheridan poll, was canceled. But No. 2 FAMU can steal the No. 1 spot today with a win over Tennessee State, No. 7 in the poll, and if Grambling stumbles against Portland State. Today's Atlanta Classic pits two of the nation's top black programs; FAMU has 13 national titles, and TSU 11.
