WILDWOOD -- Isaiah Webb scored two touchdowns and the defense played its best game of the season as Citrus defeated Wildwood 25-12.

Citrus (1-3) had lost five consecutive games.

"In the first half, we didn't start very strong," Citrus coach Larry Bishop said.

"We kept shooting ourselves in the foot. In the second half, I thought we came out and played well offensively. Defensively, we played well all night."

Webb rushed for 110 yards on 16 carries and scored on a 55-yard punt return with 12 seconds left in the third quarter.

That gave Citrus an 18-0 lead.

Citrus totaled 318 yards and amassed 20 first downs. The offense was unable to score in the first half, but defensive lineman Steve Strong returned a fumble 15 yards for a touchdown with 10 seconds left in the half to give Citrus a 7-0 lead entering the break.

Keith Zigler booted a 32-yard field goal with 7:55 left in the third quarter to give Citrus a 10-0 lead, and it rolled from there.

Webb's second touchdown, a 9-yard run with 1:20 remaining in the game, put Citrus ahead 25-6.

Wildwood (0-4) gained 200 yards but was held to 16 rushing yards on 21 attempts.

In past games, Citrus' run defense had struggled. In Monday night's 36-14 loss to Lecanto, the Hurricanes allowed 455 rushing yards.
