    Couples celebrate anniversaries

    Beatrice and Daniel Martin of Clearwater recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their grandchildren at Tio Pepe's Restaurant. They were married Aug. 9, 1941, in Elizabeth, N.J.

    They came here in 1974 from South Plainfield, N.J., after he retired as a metalsmith in Woodbridge, N.J., where he owned and operated his own business and she worked at S. Klein Department Store. After moving here they both worked in the restaurant business.

    They have two sons, three granddaughters, a grandson and three great-grandchildren. They are active in daily aquatic exercises at Bay Aristocrat Pool.

    Phyllis and Charles Stalter of Palm Harbor recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at a party given by their children. They were married Aug. 11, 1951, in North Tonawanda, N.Y.

    They came here in 1977 after he retired from Durez Plastics. She is a homemaker. They have four children and eight grandchildren. They like to travel and recently enjoyed an Alaskan cruise.

    Jacque and Fred Clark of Clearwater recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Clearwater Beach Recreation complex with friends and family, including their four sons, their spouses and eight grandchildren. They plan an anniversary trip soon to Hawaii. They were married Aug. 11, 1951, in Olean, N.Y.

    They came here in 1956 from Oswego, N.Y., after he graduated from Oswego State Teachers College. Both were teachers in the Pinellas County School System. He taught at Largo High School and she taught at Ponce deLeon Elementary School and Largo Middle School. He is a member of First Church of Christ Scientist, Dunedin, and she is a member of Unitarian Universalist Church of Clearwater.

    They are volunteer tutors and they love travel, square dancing, playing cards and tai chi.

    Loretta and James Wyandt of Oldsmar recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a gathering for friends and family at Crystal Beach Town Center followed by a trip this month to Las Vegas, which was a gift from their sons. Both are native Floridians and they were married Aug. 4, 1951, by the Rev. A.C. Teston, pastor of Tampania Baptist Church.

    He retired from Heath & Co., Oldsmar, and she is a broker with Miller & Association Realty, Dunedin. They have two sons, Dennis H. and Dana R., and four grandchildren, Brooke, J.J., Victoria and Alex.
