Clearwater city commissioners got a look at a revised design for the new main library on Thursday, and they liked what saw.
New York architect Robert A.M. Stern presented a large scale model and renderings of the $20.2-million project. "We think this building will be dramatic and friendly, and take advantage of the great assets of the site," he said. The library will be built overlooking Clearwater Harbor at the site of the existing library. In the new design, an elevator has been added near the front door and an art gallery will be visible from Osceola Avenue. Commissioners will be asked to formally approve the design Oct. 4.
