A new place to play

Developed in part by Steven Spielberg, GameWorks is owned by Sega, DreamWorks and Universal Studios and has grown from a single location in Seattle in 1997 to 15 worldwide. Hours today are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Regular hours are 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Playcards, which allow access to games, cost $10 for $10 worth of games; $20 for $27 worth of games; $25 for $40 worth of games. Specials include three hours of unlimited game play for $25 Sunday through Thursday; $15 for the first two hours of operation daily; $15 for the last two hours of operation daily; happy hour, 2-for-1 drinks and games from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays; and ladies' night Thursday, two-hour game cards free for women from 8 to 10 p.m. (813) 241-9675.
