The game

WHERE: Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg.

TV/RADIO: FSN; WFLA-AM 970, WLCC-AM 760 (Spanish).

TODAY'S PROMOTION: St. Petersburg Times TGIF night. Fans can present a coupon from the Times to receive a $10 ticket in the Beach and two 16-ounce soft drinks or beers or one margarita. There will be a raffle for a $50 gift certificate and the first 15,000 fans receive a Tropicana calendar.

TICKETS: Available at stadium box office, through Ticketmaster phone and retail outlets and at team stores in WestShore Plaza, Brandon TownCenter and BayWalk.

The pitchers

Bryan Rekar

Rekar (2-13, 6.08) is making his final start of the season. He snapped a personal six-game losing streak and recorded his longest outing (eight innings) of the season in his last start. He is looking for consecutive wins for the first time since his first two starts of 1999.

Kelvim Escobar

Escobar is 6-7 with a 3.13 ERA. He is 0-1 against Tampa Bay this season, allowing three runs on eight hits in 14 innings. The loss came Sunday, a game Tampa Bay won 1-0. Escobar has been the Jays' hottest pitcher since the All-Star break (6-3, 2.09).
