MELBOURNE -- Clearwater Central Catholic made easy work of No. 8 Melbourne Central Catholic, winning 42-0 behind another efficient game from senior quarterback Jay Davis.

Davis reached the end zone just 1:48 into the game, hitting Matt Galley with a 31-yard touchdown pass to give CCC the lead for good. On the evening he had three touchdown passes and 179 total yards, and was 16-of-24 overall with no interceptions.

James Sommers added a 10-yard rushing score, and averaged nearly 10 yards a carry for CCC (4-1) with 156 yards on 16 touches. MCC (3-1) failed to establish its ground game, as feature back Jesse Woods had 79 yards on 18 carries.
