Young couple held in armed robberyBy Times staff writer
© St. Petersburg Times, SPRING HILL -- A Hudson woman and her teenage boyfriend are accused of robbing a man Saturday morning outside a restaurant he owns in Spring Hill. Caressa Gordon, 20, of 13129 Flying Squirrel Court, faces charges of armed robbery and resisting arrest without violence. The Hernando County Jail did not release the boy's name because of his age. Authorities also did not release his exact age. Gordon told deputies she stole her grandfather's shotgun on Thursday and on Friday, she and her boyfriend decided to find a place to rob, the report said. Just after midnight, they saw Bill Santoro sitting outside Ramon's Cafe, on the corner of U.S. 19 and Northcliff Boulevard. Authorities say the boy pointed a shotgun at him, Santoro handed over his wallet, and the couple drove away. A few minutes later, deputies found the suspects in the car in the parking lot of the Denny's restaurant on U.S. 19, the report said. Both ran away but were caught minutes later. Gordon remained at the Hernando County Jail Saturday in lieu fo $50,250 bail. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • St. Petersburg Times
