PRIDE ELEMENTARY: The Math Manipulative Program will be offered from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in the school's multipurpose room, 18271 Kinnan St. The interactive demonstration will give parents a better understanding of the math tools and concepts used in teaching students in grades K-5. Guest speakers will be Rita Dugan, administrative resource teacher for mathematics, and Jack Fahle, district Math Academy resource teacher. WRITING CONTEST: The GFWC Lutz-Land O'Lakes Woman's Club is sponsoring the GFWC Youth Writing Contest. Students in grades 1 through 12 may submit one poem or short story. Poems may be any style with a length of 8 and 30 lines. Short stories should be limited to 2,000 words. Entries must include on the top corner of each page submitted: name, address, telephone number, school, grade, sponsoring club (Lutz-Land O' Lakes Woman's Club) and title of the manuscript.
