The rookie left-hander is looking to improve to 4-0 against the Blue Jays this season. Kennedy (6-8, 4.26) has pitched six or more innings in 14 of his 18 starts and allowed three earned runs or less in 13 of 18.
Carpenter (10-11, 4.13) has the third-lowest ERA among Toronto's starters since the All-Star break. In his last outing, against Cleveland on Tuesday, he was hit by a line drive and left after three innings.
Outfielders Jason Tyner and Damian Rolls spent about 30 minutes answering questions from area Girl Scouts during the Girls Night Out promotion after Saturday's game. Each answer brought shrieks of approval from the crowd.
"They make you feel like a Backstreet Boy," Tyner said.
