Hernando digestBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published October 3, 2000 UnitedHealthcare working on detailsUnitedHealthcare continued to work out details with federal officials Monday related to its Medicare HMO benefits package in Hernando County. Details related to that package, including premiums, health care provider networks, and co-payments, should be available this week after the company and the federal Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) reach an agreement. Both parties announced Friday that United had been approved by HCFA to enter Hernando County with service starting Jan. 1. Without the company, about 10,000 seniors would have been transferred to traditional Medicare, which does not offer prescription drug coverage, because the last two Medicare HMO companies announced this summer that they are pulling out at year's end. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
