Focus on volunteers

Tampa Bay Research Institute, a private nonprofit organization in St. Petersburg, seeks volunteers to help with general administrative support duties. The institute, at 10900 Roosevelt Blvd. N, is involved in basic biomedical research of cancer, AIDS and hepatitis C. For information, call Greta Beckett at 576-6675, ext. 126.

Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce needs volunteers to help staff several offices and kiosks. Volunteers assist bay area visitors by providing directions and general information. Offices are in Indian Rocks Beach, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach. For information, call the chamber at 360-6957.

The Florida Botanical Gardens, 12175 125th St. N, Largo, will hold a volunteer orientation at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17. The public garden needs volunteers to help with events including Citrus in Your Stocking, Earth Fest and Wildlife Youth. For registration, call Deborah Voigts at 582-2242.
