Sly's out for revenge

Sylvester Stallone plays Jack Carter, a mobster seeking revenge for his brother's murder, in Get Carter, opening Friday. The film is a remake of a 1971 British thriller starring Michael Caine, who makes a brief appearance in the new version. Warner Bros. didn't screen Get Carter in time for Weekend's deadline, but a review will appear Saturday on the Entertainment page (2B).

Invasion of the Digimon

The popular animated TV series Digimon becomes Digimon: The Movie on Friday, although Twentieth Century Fox didn't provide advance screenings for film critics. Would the opinion of anyone over the age of 10 matter, anyway? Probably not. For the record, Digimon is short for "digital monsters," created in Japan and imported to U.S. children bored with Pokemon. Any resemblance between the two franchises is purely for profit.
