Chamber of commerce names head governor

Terrence E. Brett has been named chairman of the board of governors for the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce. Brett, co-owner of Brett Funeral Home, served as chair-elect and previously as vice chairman for the governmental relations and leadership divisions of the chamber.

Homeless coalition has new president

Beth Elena Eschenfelder has been elected president of the Pinellas County Homeless Coalition. She is executive director of the Mustard Seed Foundation of St. Petersburg. She also serves as secretary of the Florida Coalition on Homelessness.

Seafood, steaks on menu in Indian Rocks Beach

Bob Emerson and Christian Harms have announced the opening of Coaster's Bar and Grille, 1309 Gulf Blvd., Indian Rocks Beach. The full-service restaurant, specializing in seafood and steaks, will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. The 2,000-square-foot facility was formerly George's. In the early 1970s, Keegan's Seafood Grille, now at 1519 Gulf Blvd., was there.

Accounting firm changes name, adds consulting

Peel, Schatzel & Wells P.A., Certified Public Accountants, 500 94th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, has announced a corporate name change to Wells, Houser, Schatzel & Thomas P.A. CPA and Consulting Firm.

St. Pete Beach bestows honor on quaint B&B

The city of St. Pete Beach has awarded Pasa Tiempo Bed and Breakfast Inn its quarterly beautification award. The selection was based on the overall design and appearance, and maintenance of its landscaping.
