Bucs defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin

On Packers running back Ahman Green's emergence as an NFL rushing leader:

"I told the defensive guys and gave them the report: This guy is big, strong and fast. He's got it all and he's kind of putting it all together. You put a back behind a good, solid offensive line and you've got Favre back there. Two years ago, they didn't have a running game. They had 12 rushes for 12 yards."

On Packers quarterback Brett Favre and the way he's bounced back:

"He does look better. The guy is completing 67 percent of his passes. He ran a bootleg, hit the guy in the numbers, then cut block the defensive lineman 40 yards downfield. He's always been a great competitor and we have a lot of respect for him. We really do."

On the confidence of the Bucs defense, which gave up more than 400 yards to the Vikings in last week's 20-16 loss:

"Our guys have a lot of pride. They'll put it on themselves. They don't make excuses. I don't make excuses, either. It's our job. Our offense gave us 16 points to win the game. That's enough points. We should've won the game 16-13. But they didn't get it done."

On how the injury to tailback Warrick Dunn will alter the rushing attack behind Mike Alstott:

"We tweaked it a little bit in the sense of getting a couple more things with Mike that he's stronger at -- getting his shoulders turned downhill and less sideline to sideline. In our passing game, we haven't changed a whole bunch. (Aaron) Stecker will do a good job jumping in there for him on third down."

On the Packers' improved defense, which ranks first in the NFL after a 3-0 start:

"I think they're really, really confident, and they're playing extremely well. They're getting up on you early and they're able to do what they want to do and dictate the game their way. We've got to stay in it and make it a fourth-quarter game. ... They don't have glaring weaknesses."

On whether he believes the Bucs are close to scoring touchdowns in bunches:

"I think we're close. It's a game of inches. But I think we're really, really close. Two of those red zone situations were in the two-minute drill. Those are unique. It's not easy to get touchdowns on the last play of the game."
