    Golf scramble benefits soccer association

    The third annual Osceola Youth Soccer Golf Scramble is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at Bardmoor Golf Club, 8001 Cumberland Road, Largo.

    The tournament serves as a fundraiser for the 500-member Osceola Youth Soccer Association. The $60 entry fee includes various prizes and an awards dinner. Players may arrange their own foursomes. Call Jean Marie at 398-7750 for information.

    Workshop on adopting Chinese children set

    Great Wall China Adoption, a non-profit organization designed to assist potential parents in the adoption of orphaned Chinese children, will hold an informational workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church, 2902 W Fletcher Ave., Tampa. Single people and couples between the ages of 30 and 60 are eligible to adopt. For information, call 376-7340.

    Registration open for children's program at Y

    LARGO -- Registration will take place through Saturday for the "Iddy Biddy" sports program at the YMCA of Bardmoor, 8787 Bryan Dairy Road, Largo. It is an innovative program for children ages 3 to 5. For information, call Greg at 394-9622.

    Foundation distributing free child I.D. kits

    LARGO -- Free child photo I.D. and fingerprint kits are available through the Missing Children Awareness Foundation Inc., 13094 95th St. N, Largo. Since 1984, the non-profit foundation has made the kits available to parents and guardians in the event a child is reported missing. Each kit contains a section for listing the child's physical description and any distinguishing marks, a dental chart to be filled in by a dentist, a personal information section, DNA instructions, room for a photograph and thumbprint and instructions. Kits are available in English and Spanish; specify when ordering. Send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Missing Children Awareness Foundation, 13094 95th St. N, Largo, FL 33773. In addition to distributing the child I.D. kits, the foundation sponsors a Christmas party for needy families. For information, call the foundation at 585-5360.
