Accident report

1. HUTCHISON ROAD AT WILCOX ROAD, SEPT. 22, 5:45 A.M.: A northbound 1985 Mercury went off the road and hit a wooden electric pole head-on. The Mercury driver, a 29-year-old man, was charged with not having insurance.

2. FLETCHER AVENUE AT 46TH STREET, SEPT. 22, 11:20 A.M.: An eastbound 1996 Lincoln turned left into the path of a westbound 1995 Nissan truck. The Lincoln driver, a 52-year-old woman, stated that the traffic signal turned red while she was in the intersection and she assumed the Nissan driver would stop. The Nissan driver, a 28-year-old woman, was taken to University Community Hospital. She stated that her traffic signal was still yellow when she entered the intersection. Due to conflicting stories and no witnesses, there were no charges.

3. BEARSS AVENUE AT GREGORY DRIVE, SEPT. 22, 12:55 P.M.: A bicyclist traveling east in the westbound lanes turned right toward Gregory and hit an eastbound 2000 Ford truck. The bicyclist, a 39-year-old man, was treated at the scene and released.

4. HUNTER'S GREEN DRIVE AT ESPRIT DRIVE, SEPT. 22, 3:20 P.M.: An eastbound 1998 Nissan truck rear-ended a 2000 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle that was stopped for an off-loading school bus. The Nissan driver, a 22-year-old man, was charged with careless driving, no proof of insurance and unregistered motor vehicle.

5. NORTH BOULEVARD AT 124TH AVENUE, SEPT. 22, 5:45 P.M.: A southbound 1988 Pontiac rear-ended a 1999 Chevrolet. The Pontiac driver, a 25-year-old woman, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and was charged with careless driving.

6. FLETCHER BOULEVARD AT OLA AVENUE, SEPT. 22, 8:59 P.M.: A 1986 Dodge truck pulled out from Ola into the center turn lane, leaving the rear of the vehicle obstructing the inside westbound lane. A westbound 1987 Mercury, driven by a 74-year-old woman, hit the rear of the truck. The Dodge driver, a 36-year-old man, was charged with failure to yield right of way.

7. DALE MABRY HIGHWAY AT FLETCHER AVENUE, SEPT. 22, 1:10 P.M.: A southbound 1994 Volvo rear-ended a 1990 Ford truck. The Volvo driver, a 49-year-old man, was charged with careless driving. The Ford driver, a 31-year-old man, was charged with driving with a suspended license.

8. BRUCE B. DOWNS BOULEVARD AT AMBERLY DRIVE, SEPT. 23, 4:15 A.M.: A parked 1998 Toyota truck was hit by an unknown northbound vehicle that fled the scene.

9. SOUTH MOBLEY ROAD AT GUNN HIGHWAY, SEPT. 23, 5:05 A.M.: A northbound 1991 Acura entered a sharp curve, lost control, went off the road into a ditch and rolled onto its roof. No injuries were reported.

10. NEBRASKA AVENUE AT FLETCHER AVENUE, SEPT. 23, 2:57 P.M.: A northbound 1993 Ford turned left into the path of a southbound 1988 Plymouth van. The Ford driver, a 45-year-old woman, was charged with an improper turn, and the Plymouth driver, a 22-year-old man, was charged with no proof of insurance.

11. MORRIS BRIDGE ROAD AT APACHE DRIVE, SEPT. 23, 4:20 P.M.: A southbound 2000 Ford truck went off the road, flipped over and hit a wooden fence. The driver, an 18-year-old woman, stated that she lost control because of the bumps in the road.

12. BRUCE B. DOWNS BOULEVARD AT AMBERLY DRIVE, SEPT. 23, 6:20 P.M.: A 1996 Isuzu truck driven by an 18-year-old man turned left in a parking lot, went over a curb, hit a TECO transformer box and flipped onto its side.

13. SHELDON ROAD AT CROWN BOULEVARD, SEPT. 23, 8:05 P.M.: A bicycle ran into the side of a southbound 1990 Ford. The Ford driver, a 39-year-old woman, could not see the bicyclist since he wore dark clothing and no reflectors. The bicyclist, a 14-year-old boy, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.

14. DALE MABRY HIGHWAY AT BEARSS AVENUE, SEPT. 24, 11:30 A.M.: A northbound 2000 Jeep rear-ended a 1995 Mazda. The Jeep driver, a 28-year-old woman, was charged with careless driving.

15. FLETCHER AVENUE AT DALE MABRY HIGHWAY, SEPT. 24, 1:02 P.M.: A westbound 1992 Honda rear-ended a 1994 Mercedes that was stopped for traffic. The Honda driver, a 30-year-old woman, was charged with careless driving.

16. SINCLAIR HILLS ROAD AT NEBRASKA AVENUE, SEPT. 24, 4:05 P.M.: A westbound 1999 Ford truck was driving too fast on a wet roadway and slid into the path of an eastbound 1984 Chevrolet truck. Three passengers in the Chevrolet, men aged 65, 39 and 25, were taken to University Community Hospital and Tampa General Hospital. The Ford driver, a 21-year-old man, was charged with driving too fast for the road conditions.

17. HILLSBOROUGH AVENUE AT PISTOL RANGE ROAD, SEPT. 24, 10:00 P.M.: A westbound 1985 Volkswagen traveling in the eastbound lanes hit an eastbound 1991 Mercedes. The Volkswagen driver, 70, stated that he realized too late that he was on the wrong side of the road and was looking for a way to get over. He was charged with driving on the wrong side of the road. The Mercedes driver, a 51-year-old woman, stated that the Volkswagen did not have its headlights on, only its parking lights.

18. BEARSS AVENUE AT LAKE MAGDALENE BOULEVARD, SEPT. 25, 3:55 P.M.: A northbound 1992 Honda pulled out into the path of an eastbound 1993 Ford truck. The Ford skidded 60 feet before hitting the Honda, which spun out into the westbound lanes. The Honda driver, a 16-year-old boy, was charged with failure to yield right of way and no proof of insurance. The injured was taken to University Community Hospital.

19. EHRLICH ROAD AT SOUTH VILLAGE, SEPT. 25, 3:58 P.M.: A northbound unknown vehicle turned right on Ehrlich from the center lane and into the path of an eastbound 1985 Mercury. The Mercury slowed to avoid collision and was rear-ended by a 1986 Ford truck. The Mercury spun onto the shoulder, while the Ford crossed the median and hit a westbound 1984 Cadillac stopped in the left-turn lane. The unknown vehicle fled the scene. The Mercury driver, a 15-year-old girl, was taken to University Community Hospital.

20. BEARSS AVENUE AT PINE CREST ROAD, SEPT. 25, 5:37 P.M.: Disregarding a no-left-turn sign, a westbound 1997 Ford truck turned left into an eastbound 1982 Datsun. The Ford overturned and slid into a 1988 Chevrolet truck that was stopped at a stop sign. The Ford driver, a 21-year-old man, was charged with disregarding a traffic control device, no proof of insurance and expired tags.

21. SKIPPER ROAD AT 42ND STREET, SEPT. 25, 6:25 P.M.: An eastbound 1999 Toyota ran a stop sign and was hit by a southbound 1994 Nissan. The Toyota driver, a 39-year-old woman, was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.

22. INTERSTATE 75 AT BRUCE B. DOWNS BOULEVARD, SEPT. 26, 4:15 A.M.: A northbound 1995 Honda went off the road into a grass median, lost control, skidded across the northbound lanes and slid backwards down a grass embankment into the bushes. The driver, a 25-year-old man, stated that he fell asleep and tried to regain control of the vehicle.

23. FLORIDA AVENUE AT SIOBHAN AVENUE, SEPT. 27, 4:50 P.M.: A 29-year-old woman riding her bike south in the northbound lanes crossed into the path of a 1998 Kia truck exiting from a private driveway. First aid was given at the scene.

24. EHRLICH ROAD AT DALE MABRY HIGHWAY, SEPT. 28, 5:33 P.M.: A 2000 Dodge exited a parking lot after drivers stopped in the westbound lanes waved him across. But they didn't know a 1996 Honda was still westbound in the inside left turn lane; it collided with the Dodge as it tried to cross. The Dodge driver, a 21-year-old man, was charged with failure to yield right of way.

25. BRUCE B. DOWNS BOULEVARD AT TAMPA PALMS BOULEVARD, SEPT. 28, 5:41 P.M.: A northbound 1996 Mercury rear-ended a 1999 Ford. The Mercury driver, a 43-year-old woman, stated that the Ford driver pulled forward, so she began to accelerate, but the Ford driver stopped suddenly. A passenger in the Ford, a 6-year-old girl, reported injury but refused treatment.

26. RACE TRACK ROAD AT COUNTRYWAY BOULEVARD, SEPT. 28, 8:25 P.M.: A westbound 2000 Nissan went through a red light and hit a northbound 1994 Nissan. The 1994 Nissan spun into a ditch. The 2000 Nissan driver, a 49-year-old woman, stated she was having a hot flash and was fidgeting with her seat to get comfortable. She saw the red light too late and went through the intersection. She was charged with running a red light.

27. DALE MABRY HIGHWAY AT VAN DYKE ROAD, SEPT. 28, 8:41 P.M.: A northbound 1994 Ford rear-ended a 1999 Dodge that was stopped due to other traffic. The Ford driver, a 47-year-old woman, was charged with careless driving.
