ART GALLERY OPENS ANOTHER LOCATION: on0 The Michael Murphy Gallery of South Tampa has opened its second location, in the Palm Lake Shopping Center of New Tampa, 15353 Amberly Drive. The public is invited to preview the gallery during three wine and cheese receptions from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday of the following weekends: Oct. 27-28, Nov. 3-4 and Nov. 10-11. The gallery specializes in archival framing and represents the works of regional artists such as Irene Salley, Peter Stilton, John Briggs, Marsha Hammel, Toby McWhirter and Helmut Preiss. All works are available for preview and purchase. The original Michael Murphy Gallery is at 2722 S MacDill Ave.

Citrus Park

FROZEN CUSTARD FACTORY CLOSES: The Frozen Custard Factory, 7512 Gunn Highway, next to the popular Ballyhoo Restaurant is closed. The rustic shop, which sits along the planned Upper Tampa Bay Trail, served gourmet ice cream treats.

MORE SHOPPING IN CITRUS PARK PLAZA: The storefronts on Citrus Park Plaza Drive, just south of Citrus Park Mall, are beginning to fill with "grand opening" signs. Joining the mix of discount retailers are Men's Wearhouse, S&K Menswear and Famous Footwear. They are all open and ready for business and specialize in name-brand items at off-retail prices.

DANCE STUDIO MOVES TO NEW LOCATION WITH MORE SPACE: Karl & DiMarco School of Theatre & Dance -- A new, larger studio for the 28-year-old Tampa dance company opened two weeks ago on Sept. 24 at N Dale Mabry Highway and Geraci Road."Most of our students were coming from Lutz and Odessa and Land O'Lakes," said co-owner Sandy Karl. "They were traveling so far." So the school closed its studio at Nebraska and Fowler avenues, while maintaining another in South Tampa. It has nine full- or part-time instructors.
