Woman's Toys for Tots gift stolen from garage

NEW PORT RICHEY -- Lucille Schinabarger filled a large trash bag with stuffed animals and had hoped to donate them to the Toys for Tots program.

But the bag of approximately 50 stuffed toys was stolen sometime Tuesday or Wednesday, Pasco County sheriff's deputies said.

The bag was in the garage at Schinabarger's home, located on the 3000 block of Bedford Street. She told deputies that she didn't report the theft right away because she wanted to make sure that she didn't misplace the stuffed animals, which were valued at about $100.

Deputies looked at the area and found no physical evidence or signs of forced entry.

Holiday boat store robbed of propellers, other items

HOLIDAY -- Pasco County sheriff's deputies are investigating a burglary of 16 stainless steel boat propellers, electronic equipment and tools from Sunray Boats of Florida on Wednesday night.

The burglars jumped over a fence that surrounded the sales lot at 2039 U.S. 19 in Holiday, deputies said. Once inside the lot, the thieves took the propellers -- worth nearly $10,000 -- then tried to remove the motor from a boat.

They were unsuccessful in wrenching the motor off the boat, but did about $3,300 in damage to the craft.

Assorted electronic items worth $1,626, such as depth finders, were stolen, as were $3,450 in miscellaneous tools.

The burglary happened sometime between 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. on Thursday.

The case was referred to the sheriff's Criminal Investigation Bureau.
