Movie: Max Keeble's Big Move
Rating: PG for some mildly crude humor
Summary: Max Keeble (Alex Linz) enters junior high school and is immediately targeted by the school's principal, resident bully and nasty neighborhood ice cream man. After finding out that he's moving to Chicago, Max decides to wreak havoc on the school and all of the people who have bugged him. By the time he finds out he's not going to be moving, he has a lot of fences to mend!
My view: This mediocre plot has been done a thousand times before with stereotyped characters: the evil school principal tries to stop all the fun while a group of good kids rebels against the bullies. This film seems like something you would see on the Disney Channel, not in big-screen release. I think Max Keeble's Big Move will make a big move right out of theaters and onto home video.
Favorite part: Nothing really stands out.
Least favorite part: This movie totally lacked originality.
Recommendations: In spite of the "been there, done that" flow of this flick, I think it will still have appeal to most elementary school kids because of the abundance of sight gags.
