Star Trek: Invasion

SYSTEM: PlayStation

PRICE: $39.99

MAKER: Activision

Those who enjoyed Colony Wars immediately will take to this action-oriented space shooter. Players pilot a Federation ship and attempt to take out enemies in heated interstellar battles. And after players take out those enemies, there are more enemies. And then more enemies, ad nauseam.

Grade: C+

Parasite Eve 2

SYSTEM: PlayStation

PRICE: $39.99

MAKER: Squaresoft

Parasite Eve 2 is a horrific combination of shock-filled movie cuts and real-time battles with horribly mutated animals and humans. The story takes place in the United States, which makes this one of the few times cities such as New York can be seen in PlayStation form. The result is a visual feast. Eve would have scored an A, if it weren't so hard.

Grade: B+

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2

SYSTEM: PlayStation

PRICE: $39.99

MAKER: Activision

Personally, I've had enough of these extreme trick-based games, but then again, I've played more of them than the average person. Still, Tony Hawk 2 is the best of the bunch, with 10 objectives per level, and the option to create a skate park or a skater.

Grade: B+

Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion

SYSTEM: Nintendo 64

PRICE: $49.99

MAKER: Acclaim

Turok 3 doesn't try too hard to confound players with tricky puzzles, but it remains one of the darkest and most fun first-person shooters on the market. Players can choose between two characters and pick up weapons that make a mess of enemies. Parents should beware.

Grade: A-

Dino Crisis 2

SYSTEM: PlayStation

PRICE: $39.99

MAKER: Capcom

Dino Crisis 2 is like open season on Jurassic Park. Players wander through levels where they are assailed by raptors, T-rexes and brontosaurs, which can be taken out with heavy artillery. Old-fashioned controls and mindless combat take away from this attractive game.

Grade: B-

ECW: Anarchy Rules

SYSTEM: PlayStation

PRICE: $39.99

MAKER: Acclaim

ECW is the complete extreme wrestling experience with 60 wrestlers, cage matches, table matches, blood and backlot brawls. Acclaim has improved the control system, which had been a problem in previous titles.

Grade: B+
