    Christina Dicus, of Palm Harbor University High School, completed the 42nd annual University of Florida Student Science Training Program. The seven-week summer program, for gifted and academically talented high school students, focuses on science, mathematics, computers and engineering. During the program, Dicus and other participants worked with UF faculty members on graduate-level research. Her parents are Henry and Margarita M. Dicus of Dunedin.

    Michael Silvestro, a 1995 graduate of Osceola High School, received his bachelor of fine arts degree in technical theater from the University of Central Florida, where he was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. He is an assistant light designer and master electrician with Flat Rock Playhouse, Flat Rock, N.C. His parents are Ian and Liz Stevenson of Largo.

    Sara Crockett, a 1998 graduate of Largo High School, was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. The society is a national, non-profit organization that recognizes first- and second-year undergraduate students for academic excellence. Crockett is a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society at Florida State University, where she is double-majoring in information studies and sports management. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Denton W. Crockett Jr. of Belleair.
