LARGO -- If that new puppy is digging up the back yard and barking at everything that moves, veteran dog trainer Judie Peterson can help.

Mrs. Peterson is starting a beginners' obedience class for dogs of all ages at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Highland Recreation Complex, 400 Highland Ave. NE, Largo. The class focuses on home behavior problems and basic hand and voice obedience exercises. Puppies must be at least 4 months old.

Cost of the 10-week class is $40 for Largo residents and $50 for non-residents.

An advanced obedience class meets from 8 to 9 p.m. every Thursday after the beginners' class. Cost is $3. For information or to register for the beginners' course, call Mrs. Peterson at 584-4220 or assistant trainer Marsha Dyer at 799-0349.
