The Internet Business Association Int'l., Inc., will host a luncheon to discuss Internet telephone technology from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Rusty Pelican Restaurant on Rocky Point, 2425 Rocky Point Drive in Tampa. Rosann G. Garcia was named Volunteer Trustee of the Year at the annual conference of the Florida Association of Museums in West Palm Beach. Garcia has accomplished two major long-term strategic goals: the opening of the Centro Ybor Museum and Visitors Information Center and the acquisition of five shotgun houses for its "Casita Project." She has been instrumental in arranging for the funding and rehabilitation of the Bunker Building, a small historic structure moved to serve as the cornerstone for a new streetscape on 19th Street.

Danka Business Systems announces the appointment of Mary Ann Rose to vice president of teleservices, Danka Americas. Rose's responsibilities include management and overseeing sales, profitability and customer satisfaction for call centers in Florida and Texas. Danka is an independent supplier of office imaging equipment and related services, parts and supplies.

The law firm of Carlton Fields announces that Thomas P. Barber has rejoined the firm's Tampa office as an associate. Matthew R. Cogburn, Shannon L. Bizzell and Matthew C. Lucas have also joined the firm's Tampa office as associates. Barber practices in the area of commercial litigation, in the firm's litigation and dispute resolution practice group. Cogburn practices in the construction practice group. Bizzell's practice focuses on secured financing and commercial real estate transactions, including loans secured by business assets and real estate. Lucas practices in the antitrust and complex litigation practice group.

The American Bar Association, section of litigation, has named Dinita L. James as co-chairwoman of its class actions and derivatives suits committee. James is a shareholder with the law firm Trenam Kemker. She practices in federal and state trial and appellate courts. Her practice areas include complex civil litigation, including labor and employment law and class action litigation.

Gregory C. Yadley, a managing partner of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, was presented with the Dartmouth College Alumni Award in New Hampshire. The award is given annually to an alumnus who has achieved professional distinction, provided exemplary public or community service and shown exceptional service.

Ted Kempton, of Hardeman Kempton & Associates Inc., has been elected president of the Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. David Flanagan, of Phil Graham and Associates, Inc., has been selected to serve as section chairman of the Tampa Bay Section.

Brian C. Lee has joined Polen Capital Management as the chief operating officer, a new position. Lee was the former president of Heritage Asset Management, a subsidiary of Raymond James Financial. Polen Capital is a registered investment adviser.

The attorneys of Burton & Geitner, a Tampa-based litigation firm, have joined the practice of Broad and Cassel. Shareholders Steven G. Burton and Charles G. Geitner are joined by Robert E. Sickles and Lisa A. Griffin in making the transition to Broad and Cassel. Burton will serve as co-managing partner with Robert E. Johnson. Burton's practice includes commercial litigation, disputes involving government contracts, products liability, and the sale of goods. Geitner's practice areas include commercial litigation, the Uniform Commercial Code, products liability and business torts. Sickles' practice focuses on commercial and civil litigation. Griffin's practice includes civil and commercial litigation, products liability, premise liability and insurance defense.
