3 Serendipity -- Strangers in the night leave their possible reunion to fate. John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale are the best romantic comedy couple of the year so far.
4 Joy Ride -- Two road-tripping brothers engage in a duel with an angry trucker. Pulp fiction at its best from director John Dahl (Rounders, The Last Seduction).
5 Training Day -- Denzel Washington's raging portrayal of a corrupt narcotics cop is one of the year's best. Ethan Hawke co-stars as a naive rookie in a stylish crime yarn.
