Rodeo Drive returns to canyon
By JORGE SANCHEZ © St. Petersburg Times, published October 13, 2000 A return engagement by the country show band Rodeo Drive on Friday highlights the weekend festivities at Rock Crusher Canyon Garden Pavilion. Rodeo Drive has performed at Disney World and throughout Central Florida for the past four years. The band has also toured Europe three times and shared concert stages with country music legends George Jones and Alabama. Rodeo Drive features lead singer Margo Rochelle, an accomplished singer and entertainer. The band performs songs from Rochelle's compact disc I Will Live to Love Again as well as covers of contemporary country songs. Doors open at 5 p.m. Friday, the new buffet dinner is served from 6 to 8 p.m. and Rodeo Drive performs from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is $15 for the show and buffet. On Saturday, Razz Ma Tazz performs its Dixieland, pop and audience sign-alongs show, featuring bandleader Johnny Baier on tenor banjo. A special guest Saturday is Barry St. Ives, "The King of Comedy." St. Ives is a regular performer at Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He has toured with Engelbert Humperdinck, Robert Goulet, Steve Lawrence and many other entertainers. St. Ives also does impressions of the great singers, including Elvis Presley and Humperdinck. Razz Ma Tazz will begin with a set of songs at 7 p.m., followed by an 8 p.m. performance from St. Ives, and then another musical set of songs from Razz Ma Tazz. Dinner is served from 6 to 8 p.m. and admission is $15. Call 795-1313. Also, the pavilion will host an Oktoberfest celebration from 5 to 10 p.m. Oct. 20.
