Georgia QB Carter hurts shoulder
ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia quarterback Quincy Carter sprained his left shoulder in the fourth quarter against Vanderbilt on Saturday.
Carter was knocked out of bounds by linebacker Jamie Winborn and at least two other defenders, remaining down for several minutes. He was diagnosed with a sprained shoulder after being taken to a hospital for X-rays.
An MRI exam was scheduled for later in the day. Carter is questionable for Saturday's game at Kentucky.
ALABAMA QB OUT FOR YEAR: Quarterback Tyler Watts tore a knee ligament in the first quarter against Mississippi and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
Watts tore his left anterior cruciate ligament on a 5-yard run on the opening series.
The sophomore had started the past three games. He had played two series two weeks ago against South Carolina before coming out with a nagging hamstring injury.
Both times he was replaced by Andrew Zow, who started the first two games.
BOISE STATE: Quarterback Bart Hendricks' seventh 300-yard game tied Jim McMillan for the school record. Hendricks' four touchdowns increased his career total to 60, moving him past McMillan's 58 and into second place behind Tony Hilde, who had 70.
DUQUESNE: Running back Donte Small set a school single-game record with 290 yards rushing against Georgetown. Small broke Mike Haines' record of 267 yards set in 1992 at St. John's.
INDIANA: Quarterback Antwaan Randle El ran for 39 yards and passed for 111, becoming the second player to run for 2,000 yards and pass for 5,000 in a career. Southwestern Louisiana's Brian Mitchell ran for 3,335 and threw for 5,447 from 1987-89.
UMASS: Running back Marcel Shipp rushed for 114 yards against Maine, becoming the first player in school history with 1,000 career rushing and receiving yards.
MICHIGAN: The 45 first-half points against Indiana were second to the school-record 55 scored against Chicago in 1939 and matched in 1991 against Northwestern.
MICHIGAN STATE: Starting quarterback Brooks Bollinger, 0-for-6 in the first half against Wisconsin, suffered a concussion.
N.C. STATE: Running back Ray Robinson injured his right foot while being tackled by North Carolina's Brandon Spoon. His status was unknown. ... Wide receiver Koren Robinson was held to two catches for 41 yards, snapping his school-record streak of six 100-yard receiving games.
OREGON: With the win over the Trojans, the Ducks have beaten Southern Cal, UCLA and Washington in a season for the first time since 1948.
SOUTH CAROLINA: Coach Lou Holtz promised to yank out the goal posts at Williams-Brice Stadium if his Gamecocks won, but he passed up the chance after shaking hands with Arkansas coach Houston Nutt. "I looked at those suckers again and I looked at my arms," the skin-and-bones Holtz said. "I thought I might be out there all day."
SYRACUSE: Running back Dee Brown rushed for 105 yards against Boston College, passing Jim Brown's total of 2,091 to move into 11th place in school history with 2,125.
