ACCOUNTING: Grant Thornton LLP, Tampa, announced the following appointments: Andrew Norstrud, assurance manager; and Virginia "Ginny" Vickers, senior tax associate. Norstrud was corporate controller at Aerosonic Corp., Clearwater; Vickers was a senior tax associate with Andersen.

AUDIO/VISUAL: Charles Lawson has been promoted to audio director of the creative show services division of Audio Visual Innovations, Tampa. Lawson was an audio system engineer.

COMMUNICATIONS: Jay O'Connor has been promoted to regional vice president for Cox Radio. O'Connor was Tampa market manager and will add the Richmond, Va., market to his responsibilities.

CONSTRUCTION: Nancy Reynolds has been named vice president of finance for Morrison Homes, Tampa. Reynolds was controller for Centex Homes, Tampa.

ENVIRONMENTAL: Linda Osborne has been promoted to special projects coordinator for commercial and residential clients for Phillips Environmental Services, Clearwater. Osborne was a landscape manager.

EQUIPMENT:Ringhaver Equipment Co., Tampa, announced the following promotions: Jim Cress, power systems general service manager; and Ritt Hall, power systems service manager. Cress was power systems service manager; Hall was industrial compressor service foreman.

HEALTH CARE: Paul Mooney has been named president of the surgical products group for Maxxim Medical Inc., Clearwater. Mooney was vice president of marketing for Cardinal Health.

LEGAL: Thomas S. Harmon was elected to the board of directors for the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and was the recipient of its Gold Eagle Award. Harmon is a partner with the law firm of Davis & Harmon, Tampa.

ORGANIZATIONS: Goodwill Industries-Suncoast Inc., St. Petersburg, has elected Loreen M. Spencer chairwoman. Spencer is a certified public accountant and partner with Deloitte & Touche. Elected vice chairmen were: Martin W. Gladysz, retired vice president/treasurer of Eckerd Corp.; Richard E. Ludwig, TECO Power Services Corp.; Karl R. Koch, Dewey Square Group; Chuck Winship, Beef O'Brady's; and Charles F. Robinson Jr., Acordia. Also elected were: secretary, Dan R. Johnson, retired from Echelon; and chairman emeritus, Robert G. Stern of the law firm of Trenam, Kemker, Scharf, Barkin, Frye, O'Neill & Mullis, Tampa. New board members are: Danyle Anderson, Tech Data Corp.; Steven M. Christoff, Paine Webber; Ruth A. Johnston; David E. Murphy, Sembler Co.; Mark A. Myers, Florida Power Corp.; and Edward E. Rader, a retired Kmart manager.

PROFESSIONAL: Diane M. Vandiver has been named director of sales and marketing for Aston Gardens at Sun City Center, an independent and assisted living community. Vandiver was area director of sales and marketing for Marriott Senior Living Services.

REAL ESTATE: Bob Abberger has been promoted to area director of development services for Trammell Crow Co., covering Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville. Abberger was principal of Trammell Crow's Tampa office.

RECRUITMENT: Catherine Coates has been promoted to director of recruiting for Resources Connection and will work in Tampa and Orlando. Coates was a recruitment manager.

TECHNOLOGY: Tim Lowe has been promoted to vice president of sales for the western division of Tech Data Corp., Clearwater. Lowe was vice president of business development.

CORRECTION: Robert Lerch is an executive with Raymond James Bank in St. Petersburg. Daniel J. Gaus is an account executive in the St. Petersburg office of Resource Bancshares Mortgage Group. A photo last week inBusiness Times was misidentified.
