    Today

    CLEARWATER COMMISSION: The Clearwater City Commission holds a workshop at 9 a.m. at City Hall, 112 S Osceola Ave.

    RECREATION INPUT: Residents can tell Clearwater what recreation facilities the city should build over the next 20 years. Five public input meetings are being held, all lasting from 7-9 p.m. On Monday, Oct. 15, the meetings are at the Countryside Recreation Center, 2640 Sabal Springs Drive, and at the Long Center, 1501 Belcher Road. On Tuesday, Oct. 16, they are at the Martin Luther King Recreation Center, 1201 Martin Luther King Ave., and at Oak Grove Middle School, 1370 S Belcher Road. On Wednesday, Oct. 17, a meeting is at Harborview Center, 300 Cleveland St.

    Tuesday

    PLANNING BOARD: The Clearwater Community Development Board meets 2 p.m. at City Hall, 112 S Osceola Ave.

    DUNEDIN COMMISSION MEETING: The Dunedin city commissioners will have a special meeting at city hall at 3 p.m. The city's regular commission meeting will be held Thursday at 6:30 also at city hall, 542 Main Street.

    LARGO COMMISSION MEETING: Largo city commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 201 Highland Ave.

    Wednesday

    U.S. 19 MEETING: The Florida Department of Transportation will hold a meeting to explain future road projects on U.S. 19 to residents. The meeting will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Palm Harbor Middle School.

    Thursday

    CLEARWATER COMMISSION: The Clearwater Commission meets at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 112 S Osceola Ave.

    Oct. 20

    USED CHILDREN'S BOOKS: The Friends of the Clearwater Library are hosting a "Children's Used Books Sale" from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Main Library, 100 N Osceola Ave., to raise money for building a new library. Donations of books for the sale are now being collected.

    HEAR EERIE SOUNDS: Wildlife specialists Jeanne Murphy and Jerry Shrewsbury will introduce families to screech owl coos, bat clicks and other sounds of an October night. The free class, from 7 to 8 p.m., will be in the Tropical Pavilion at The Florida Botanical Gardens, 12175 125th St. North, Largo. (727) 582-2200.
