Coach Tony Dungy: "You're not going to win a lot of games when you give up 31 points on the road."

Quarterback Brad Johnson, on the tying drive: "There was a sense of urgency, no doubt. We completed fourth downs twice. There was no give-up in our guys."

Defensive end Simeon Rice, on the Bucs' opponents: "We've been playing top-notch quarterbacks, and I think that has a little to do with where we're at right now."

Wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson: "We didn't play hard at the beginning of the game, and that contributes to you losing the game. If we can put a game together like we did in the second half, we'll have something."

Linebacker Derrick Brooks on what's wrong with the defense on third down: "It isn't like there's a lot of things wrong with the machine. The machine has just got to fine-tune its part. Just go up to a man, look yourself in the mirror, fine-tune your part of the machine, and the machine will take care of itself."

Dungy: "I thought we played hard and fought, but we didn't play well. We didn't do the things you have to do to win, especially on the road."

Defensive tackle Warren Sapp, on not containing quarterbacks: "It's killing us right now. We used to never let a quarterback out of the pocket. That was our signature. We'd keep you in the pocket and pound you all day long."

Sapp, on what is missing from the defense: "We're just not playing fundamentally sound football. We're not playing 60 minutes of Buc ball. Today, we only played 30 minutes, and it cost us."

Sapp on former Florida and current Titans lineman Zach Piller, who, in just the second start of his three-year career, held Sapp to one tackle: "He's an all-right player. Nothing to write home about. He did an adequate job."
