Dr. Michael A. Pikos, a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and founder of Coastal Jaw Surgery, recently lectured on dental implants in Honolulu at the 86th annual meeting of the American Academy of Periodontology in conjunction with the Japanese Society of Periodontology.

Florida Power Corp. and Carolina Power & Light recently announced that when the two companies merge in the near future, Kathy Small will be the community relations manager for Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties. Small currently serves as area manager for Pasco and northern Pinellas counties in the present Florida Power operations. Her office will be located in Pasco County.

The Citrus County Chamber of Commerce is holding its first annual Welcome the Fall Season business decorating contest. Each business participating is required to decorate the outside of its building in the fall season motif. All businesses will be judged this week. For information, call 795-3149.

The Christmas parade for Crystal River will be Dec. 2 and the Inverness parade will be Dec. 9. The Citrus County Chamber of Commerce, the city of Crystal River and the city of Inverness will sponsor the events. For more information, call 795-3149 or 726-2801.

Leadership Citrus, a community leadership training program, is currently accepting applications for the Class of 2001. The selection committee is looking for Citrus County residents who have shown a commitment to being involved in community affairs and are willing to devote the time necessary to complete the program. The program will be conducted from Jan. 4, through June 28, 2001, with meetings held twice a month. Tuition for the program is $695 per person, which includes seminar materials, field trips, refreshments and meals. For information, call Pat Eldridge at 726-6899 by Nov. 17.

Citrus Memorial Hospital will hold an educational program for all local clergy from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday in the Gulf Room in the hospital's administration building on Citrus Avenue in Inverness. The program is part of the hospital's Pastoral Care training efforts and is coordinated by Dr. F. William Ortolf, CMH Pastoral Care coordinator. The program is free. Wednesday

Suncoast Business Masters meets at noon Wednesdays at Crystal Paradise Restaurant, 508 N Citrus Ave. in Crystal River. Suncoast Masters networks through leads from members. The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Society of Accounting & Tax Professionals will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Spring Hill. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central Florida will meet Nov. 9 and Dec. 13 in the Cypress Room in the administration building of Citrus Memorial Hospital. The purpose of the foundation is to grant wishes to children ages 21/2 to 18 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. For information, call 621-5437.
